Kimball has long understood the success that can grow from creating opportunities.
A respect for the value of education has been a Kimball distinction since the Company's early days. In 1963, company founder Arnold F. Habig instituted a Kimball College Scholarship Program for the children of company employees.
Since 1963, Kimball has had an impact on the lives of 356 children of company employees, helping them pursue higher education, by awarding over $3 million in college scholarships.
In 2009, the company awarded nearly $64,000 in Kimball Scholarships to five students.
Kimball Scholarship Program - An Employee Benefit
The Kimball International Scholarship Program, which is administered by the Kimball International-Habig Foundation, Inc., offers educational opportunities to qualified young men and women who are dependents of full-time employees of the company. The program is strictly limited to dependent children of employees and is not available to the public in any way.
Applicants must be dependents of full-time employees and be graduating from high school during the current scholarship program year. Applications may be made for either a four-year or two-year scholarship. Winning students in a four-year program receive $15,000. Two-year program winners receive $3,600. Academic achievement and financial need are considered in awarding the scholarship grants. Recipients are chosen solely on individual merit by a selection committee entirely independent of Kimball International.
While there are no stipulations or requirements tied to the Kimball scholarship, many past recipients have ultimately been hired by Kimball after obtaining their degree.
